Lead Network Engineer
Rate: Up to €38/hour
Overview
We are looking for a Lead Network Engineer to join the CloudOps team of our client in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous operation of IT platforms, managing and troubleshooting over 3,000 servers across both private and public cloud environments. As part of a dynamic and cross-functional team, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing network solutions, automating deployment and operations, and maintaining the security and reliability of network infrastructure.d collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network solutions that are both efficient and secure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Troubleshoot: Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues across a wide range of network solutions, ensuring minimal downtime for our client’s IT platforms.
- Network Solutions: Modernize and optimize network solutions for critical SaaS products, improving the efficiency and performance of network infrastructure.
- Automation: Continuously work on automating the deployment, configuration, and operations of network components and services to improve operational efficiency.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that all network infrastructure solutions adhere to the best IT security practices and company standards.
- Documentation and Governance: Enhance documentation quality and governance for network solutions, ensuring transparency and compliance with internal policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to implement IPS for network solutions and improve network documentation practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Explain complex networking concepts to non-technical stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner.
Requirements:
- Technical Leadership: Proven experience in leading technical teams in the networking area within a multi-functional, cross-cultural environment.
- Networking Expertise: Extensive experience in designing networks for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR), including the creation of network diagrams and technical documentation.
- Firewall Administration: Strong hands-on experience with Fortigate firewall administration, BGP routing, and network protocols such as MPLS, VPN, SSLVPN, and Site2Site VPN.
- Cloud Technologies: Good understanding of cloud network technologies such as Azure and AWS, including Azure firewall, Virtual Gateway, Virtual Networks, and VPC.
- Troubleshooting Skills: In-depth experience with network troubleshooting (HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, Switching, and Load Balancing).
- Security Focus: Knowledge of modern security requirements and implementation patterns in network solutions.
- Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools like Fortigate API, and experience in automating network operations is a plus.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Experience in Agile: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with network automation tools and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with cloud-based security frameworks.
