Richmond, CA (Onsite) – Need Someone within 15-20 miles to Richmond, CA

Long Term Contract

We are currently seeking a motivated and technically skilled Network Engineer to join their IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for a network professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic and hands-on environment. The successful candidate will support and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure while collaborating with experienced engineers on new implementations and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the configuration, deployment, and installation of network equipment and software
  • Monitor network performance and proactively troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of data
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers on the design and rollout of network solutions
  • Provide tier-1 and tier-2 technical support to internal users regarding network-related concerns

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in network engineering
  • Strong understanding of:
    • LAN technologies
    • Cisco route/switch platforms, design and configuration experience
    • Routing protocols (OSPF)
    • TCP/IP (Layers 2, 3, and 4)
    • Windows and Mac OS networking
    • Active Directory
    • IT security principles
    • Fiber optic cabling
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Preferred Skills

  • Experience with BGP routing protocols
  • Linux networking familiarity
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies
  • Experience configuring and managing firewalls

Certifications

  • Active CCNA or CCNP certification (Required and must be provided)

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be able to commute to the worksite daily
