The Constellation Technology Team provides a group-wide set of Technology Products and Services across the Constellation Automotive Group. We are a central function working across the following domains: Technology Operations, Cyber Security, Product, Engineering, Enterprise Applications, Logistics, Architecture and Portfolio; across the UK and Europe.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing TechOps team, as a Network Development Engineer with the ability to automate day to day tasks and develop code to support new ways of working. The Network Development Engineer works on innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. A good candidate must understand network concepts and have a proficiency in at least one development language. An understanding of network automation principles and technologies is preferred.
Role Accountabilities:
- Support the deployment and management of network technology across the UK and into Europe
- Assist in resolution of incidents, applying logic & experience
- Collaborate with Senior Network Engineers to implement automation solutions
- Enable automated network deployment operations to provide outstanding service reliability
- Develop as a Subject Matter Expert to the business in networking automation technologies
- Adhere to ITIL best practice for incident, request and change management
- Ensure the documentation of standards, operating procedures and templates is kept up to date
- Collaborate with technical peers and colleagues on direction, automation and best practice
Knowledge and Experience:
- Sound understanding of fundamental networking concepts and associated security principles
- Scripting Knowledge such as Ansible, Python, Perl, Ruby, Shell, etc. for use with Automation
- Understanding of network monitoring/alerting
- Understanding of network configuration management tooling
- Experience or sound understanding of working in project teams
- Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to effectively prioritise and execute tasks
- Ability to convey a professional image and deal confidently with technical problems
- Inquisitive and driven to perform to the best of their abilities
