You'll design and build real-time backend systems and API integrations that power PF1's trading infrastructure. Your work will drive critical trading features, enable platform scalability, and ensure smooth performance for thousands of users.
Requirements

โธ Develop Python-based APIs to integrate with MatchTrade, TradeLocker, NinjaTrader, QuantTower, and others
โธ Deliver real-time data feeds and message handlers using WebSockets and RabbitMQ
โธ Ensure low-latency, high-availability performance suitable for production trading systems
โธ Write scalable, well-documented microservices using the Quart framework
โธ Implement containerized microservices architecture using Docker and AWS ECS
โธ Contribute to infrastructure-as-code systems via Terraform
โธ Design database structures (SQL/NoSQL) optimized for real-time operations
โธ Apply strong observability and monitoring tools to maintain performance visibility
โธ Own the backend development of tools like risk management modules and trading enhancements
โธ Iterate quickly with clear, testable code and fast deployment cycles
โธ Collaborate across engineering and product to align on priorities and execution speed
โธ Support internal QA and deployment readiness with unit and integration testing best practices.
Candidate Profile
โธ 5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with Python, preferably using async frameworks like Quart or FastAPI
โธ Strong knowledge of API design and integration - especially REST and WebSocket-based systems
โธ Experience working with RabbitMQ, Docker, and cloud environments like AWS (particularly ECS)
โธ Solid understanding of microservices architecture and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform
โธ Ability to build fast and ship fast โ comfortable in high-velocity, iterative environments
โธ Proficient in real-time data handling, performance tuning, and system observability
โธ Collaborative, self-driven, and able to work independently in remote teams across time zones
โธ Familiarity with trading systems or fintech infrastructure is a strong plus.
