Java Developer (Relocation to Malta)


  • Salary: €50,000 – €70,000 (depending on experience)
  • Hybrid setup | Permanent role | Relocation to Malta assistance


An international iGaming company is expanding its backend engineering team in Malta. This is a great opportunity to work on real-time, high-transaction systems built with a modern tech stack.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot
  • Build event-driven architectures using Kafka
  • Optimize performance of PostgreSQL-based transactional systems
  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle
  • Ensure long-term code quality, maintainability, and system stability


What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of professional Java development experience
  • Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and Kafka
  • Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous messaging
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or similar)


Nice to Have:

  • Background in iGaming, casino, or sportsbook platforms
  • Experience with low-latency, high-concurrency systems
  • Familiarity with production monitoring and observability tools
