We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Network Engineer to join our Corporate IP Networks Operations team at Optus. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our IP Network and Security Operations. You will be working in a dynamic 24/7 Shift environment, monitoring and responding to network incidents, optimising performance, and managing network/security equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Radware, Check Point and Fortinet.

Your day in the life of a Network Engineer at Optus

• Monitor network events and manage incidents within KPIs.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of network issues.
• Adhere to ITIL best practices in incident management.
• Optimise network performance and ensure the reliability of network services.
• Handle complex network platforms and ensure effective communication across various technical levels.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders while meeting service level agreements.
  
  

Your Skills To Pay The Bills

• Solid experience in networking and security with relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Check Point Certified Security Administrator or Fortinet NSE.
• Working knowledge and experience on Cisco routers and switches, Radware Alteon Load Balances and Check Point/Fortinet firewalls.
• Working knowledge of virtualized networking, security and application systems
• Working knowledge of Information security best practices & network security architecture
• Knowledge of Unix / Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking experience
• Knowledge of IP Tables/Packet filter firewalls
• Operational knowledge and experience of Authentication systems such as AD, LDAP, RADIUS and TACACS
• Working knowledge with NMS Event/Alerting systems.
• Working knowledge in ITIL related Incident management processes and systems such as Service Now and JIRA.
• Working knowledge of Data analytics tools such as SPLUNK and ELK
