Join Mavis Games as Our Next Game Animator & VFX Artist
Bring motion to life. Spark emotion. Shape how players feel.
At Mavis Games, we believe the difference between a good game and a magical one often lies in the subtle details — the squash of a bounce, the burst of a win, the shimmer of anticipation. And we know that emotion lives in the motion.
Now, we’re looking for a Game Animator & VFX Artist who can bring characters, UI, and worlds to life through expressive animation and powerful effects. If you’re passionate about making gameplay feel right — from the tiniest bounce to the most satisfying win effect — we want you on board.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where your creative decisions will shape how our players experience our games — moment by moment, level by level.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and animate polished, expressive 2D game elements — characters, UI, environments, icons, and more.
- Create impactful VFX and particle systems that elevate feedback, flow, and fun.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with game designers, developers, and other artists to ensure seamless integration of art and gameplay.
- Drive the visual animation identity across new and existing projects.
- Stay current on visual trends in mobile gaming, animation, and VFX — and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Iterate fast, experiment often, and strive for emotional impact with every frame.
You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have 2+ years of professional experience in 2D game animation and visual effects.
- Are proficient in Spine, Unity (especially Shuriken particle system), Photoshop, and other relevant tools.
- Understand timing, weight, anticipation, and all key principles of animation.
- Have strong artistic fundamentals — color theory, composition, movement, and visual storytelling.
- Possess a portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of animation and VFX work, especially in mobile/casual titles.
- Are curious, collaborative, and comfortable working in an agile development environment.
Bonus Points If You:
- Worked on a shipped mobile game (especially F2P or casual puzzle titles).
- Have experience with Unity Shader Graph or VFX Graph.
- Love exploring new animation styles or pushing visual prototypes in your spare time.
- Understand the visual language of top casual games like Royal Match, Candy Crush, or Toon Blast.
- Have participated in game jams or personal animation projects.
