Java Developer (Contract)

Role: Java Developer

Location: Melbourne

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Developer with 8–12 years of experience in back-end development and architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with modern frameworks and tools, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust back-end systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices
• Work with MongoDB, Kafka, and API Gateway
• Contribute to UI development with React
• Use modern development tools like Maven/Gradle, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Codefresh, Artifactory, scripting)
• Take ownership of tasks and contribute to release management

Required Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB
• Experience with Microservices architecture and Kafka
• Exposure to frontend development with React (nice to have)
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools
• Experience with CI/CD tools and processes
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
