Product Owner, Authentication and Payment Services

About this opportunity

We are looking for a Product Owner (PO) to join our team and take ownership of our authentication and payment services – core capabilities that power everyday banking for our customers. This is a key role at the intersection of security, usability, and innovation.

Your role is to lead the development roadmap and strategic projects for Aktia’s digital authentication and payments services in digital channels, for both consumers and businesses in good cooperation with our stakeholders and partners. This role will also include a special focus to drive the development of fraud prevention in Aktia’s all digital services. You’re structured, curious, and passionate about building great digital experiences that people trust.

Your mission

As Product Owner, you’ll be responsible for the vision, roadmaps and continuous improvement of our authentication and payments capabilities, including:

• Login and strong customer authentication (SCA)
• Authorisation flows for payments and transactions
• Identity and access management (IAM)
• Integration with internal systems and third-party services
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks
• Fraud prevention development in digital channels

You’ll be leading our strategic projects on your domain ensuring that deliveries and goals are met on time.

You’ll work closely with designers, developers, architects, compliance and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that are secure, user-friendly and future-proof.

Needed experience and skills:

• Several years’ experience in digital banking development and digital operations, preferably in a PO role in authentication, payments, identity or security – preferably in a regulated industry like banking or fintech. Experience of fraud prevention is seen as a plus.
• Understanding of technologies related to authentication and fraud prevention
• Knowledge in banking business and regulation
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills as well as prioritization skills
• Experience in gathering requirements and documenting specifications
• Vision on how to develop fraud prevention in the best way in a complexed environment
• Experience in key roles in successful IT projects, preferably previous experience of product ownership role
• Excellent understanding of business processes and IT development
• Experience in working with agile methodologies and Jira
• Academic degree in relevant field
• We expect a good candidate to be able to work both in Finnish and English
