Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Techmunity
United Kingdom · Full-time · Mid-Senior

Techmunity are hiring a Founding AI Engineer for a mission-led AI startup transforming healthcare by giving time back to care.

Their mobile-first platform lets care workers speak or type natural observations, which AI then turns into rich, structured records - instantly.

It’s already saving teams over 2 hours per shift, surfacing early signs of behavioural or wellbeing changes that would otherwise go unnoticed.

With a successful pilot complete and a commercial rollout underway across 160+ care homes, they’re now scaling - backed by Outward VC, Portfolio Ventures, and the founder of Blue Prism.

Your Mission

As the Founding AI Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the reliability, evaluation, and evolution of their AI systems - ensuring they work in the real world, not just the lab.

What You Will Do

  • Build agent-powered workflows that transform free-form notes into structured, actionable insights
  • Design evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to catch drift and hallucinations before users do
  • Scale their pipelines (CI/CD, MLflow, Azure) to support thousands of real-world interactions
  • Develop tools non-technical care workers can trust — intuitive, fast, and invisible when they need to be
  • Collaborate closely with design and engineering to continuously improve usability and performance

What You Bring

  • Experience deploying LLM and generative AI systems into production
  • Proficiency with Python, containerisation (Docker), and cloud (Azure preferred)
  • Familiarity with RAG, prompt engineering, chaining, and performance evaluation
  • A builder mindset - pragmatic, curious, and user-first

Bonus if you’ve worked with:

  • Multimodal data (e.g. voice + text)
  • Healthcare, social care, or other messy, high-stakes domains
  • UX-aware product development

You'll join a small, mission-driven team with deep care sector insight, design thinking, and engineering experience. They operate with transparency, empathy, and urgency.

Package & Other Details

  • Salary: £80,000–£100,000 depending on experience
  • Equity: 0.25–1.25% meaningful early-stage stake
  • Hybrid (London HQ – WeWork, Canary Wharf)
  • 25 days holiday + public holidays
  • Annual learning budget (courses, tools, conferences)

Interviews are ongoing.
