Senior Backend Engineer with Go

We’re seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with Go who will take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend systems

This position requires collaboration with front-end developers, architects, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to create robust APIs, microservices, and data processing solutions using Go. The Senior Backend Engineer will champion best practices in software development, performance enhancement, and cloud-based deployment

This fully remote role offers flexibility to work from any location within Poland, including your home or one of our well-equipped offices in Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Warsaw, or Wroclaw


Responsibilities


  • Define, develop, and uphold scalable backend services and APIs using Go
  • Coordinate the requirements implementation approach and task allocation for Backend engineers
  • Optimize application performance to enhance scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with architects and DevOps teams to design cloud-native solutions using AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Handle database integrations across SQL and NoSQL systems
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of microservices-based architectures
  • Ensure secure authentication, authorization, and adherence to security best practices
  • Analyze and validate code quality, making sure it is clean, maintainable, and well-documented with unit and integration tests
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to deliver end-to-end solutions alongside frontend and mobile developers
  • Commit to code reviews and provide mentorship as well as technical guidance
  • Address production issues, troubleshoot, and debug when necessary


Requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in backend development, including at least 3 years with Go (Golang)
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, RESTful API structures, and gRPC
  • Background in cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with container technologies Docker and Kubernetes
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL
  • Skills in working with message queues and event-driven architectures like Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Understanding of performance optimization, caching strategies, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Competency in using testing frameworks and tools for backend services
  • Capability to solve problems and perform analytical tasks effectively
  • Qualifications in communicating and collaborating within teams
  • Expertise in mentoring junior engineers and fostering a learning culture
  • Flexibility to focus on continuous improvement and adapt proactively
  • Capability to contribute independently or as part of diverse, cross-functional teams
