Where And How You Can Work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work. That means if you want to do your thing in the office (if you're near one), at home or a bit of both, it's up to you.

What You’d Be Doing In This Role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At The Moment, This Role Is Focused On

• Coding in GoLang to build and deploy products that run across multiple Kubernetes clusters
• Be on-call for the team’s products and drive operational excellence
• Working with our stakeholders across Security, Product, and other Platform teams to understand their needs as we forge Canva’s platform products.
• Developing yourself and your team members
  
  
  

You're probably a match if

• You have strong Computer Engineering / Science knowledge around fundamentals and first principles relating to concurrency, multithreading, data structures, architecture, and various design patterns
• You have advanced skills in software and network engineering.
• Experience with GoLang
• Understanding of Cloud Networking in providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure
• You have experience in deploying and operating a Service Mesh in Kubernetes
• You have a working understanding of Kubernetes and Kubernetes networking.
• Understanding of CNI, Ingress, and Multi-Cluster networking
• Understanding of networking protocols e.g. IP, DNS, TLS, and mTLS.
• You have experience working with cloud infrastructure platforms to create a foundation for building secure, reliable, and performant systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes controllers and reconcile loop architecture
• Knowledge of web application architecture in the context of cloud providers.
• Experience using manifest generation tools, like Helm or Jsonnet, to manage cloud infrastructure.
• You have experience as a software engineer building platform products to accelerate and empower engineers to achieve crazy big goals.
• You have hands-on experience using AI in coding / programming to drive greater impact
  
  

About The Team

The Workload Integration team is responsible for workload identity, application networking, dynamic configuration, and internal PKI. The team is part of the Cloud Platform Group, which comprises approximately 80 Software Engineers, and their goal is to enable the safe, secure, and reliable operation of canva.com and internal workloads. Cloud Platform’s mission is to reduce the complexity of using the Cloud (we use AWS) so that engineers can focus on their domains. We build products to support engineers across the company to easily provision and configure Cloud resources, and release, run, and operate workloads. Our goal is to ensure it's all done as simply and securely as possible.
