Identity Access Management ( IAM ) Architect

My client is seeking an IAM Consultant with architect level experience to join the team on a long term contract assignment in Helsinki. Please note though that this is a part time role ( 14 days per month ) The contract starts in September and will run for 9 months with a possibility of further renewal. This is a hybrid working model with on-site and off-site working. Candidates should be living in Finland or willing to relocate there for the duration of the project.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience as an identity and access management architect / senior engineer performing the key tasks listed below.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure-based IAM solutions, including Azure AD, Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC, and federation services for both internal and external users.
• Develop and maintain IAM architecture and transition plans, supporting the migration from a custom-built system to a modular, cloud-native environment.
• Define authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle policies, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR).
• Architect the decoupling of legal entity and contact management functionalities, enabling their re-use as standalone components in the future IAM landscape.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, Security, Applications, Legal) to deliver integrated, secure, and compliant identity solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, including solution designs, authentication flows, integration blueprints, and governance procedures.
• Conduct risk and compliance assessments related to IAM modernization, modularization, and hybrid cloud operations.
• Apply cost-optimization (FinOps) principles, balancing security, scalability, and financial efficiency in IAM decisions.
