We're looking for a Backend Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. You will be integral to our team, helping to build and optimise the scalable, high-performance services while we continue to build our core product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain robust backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Develop and maintain data models and queries in PostgreSQL
• Manage and evolve infrastructure on AWS, optionally using Terraform
• Optimize and maintain data processing workflows using Pandas and PySpark
• Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making
• Take ownership and initiative, help shape the future of our tech stack

What you'll bring:

• 1–5+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python, with experience building APIs (FastAPI or similar)
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Optional but helpful: basic understanding of React.js and how frontends interact with APIs
• Working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda)
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform is a plus
• Exposure to data processing tools like Pandas and PySpark
• A self-starter mindset: you’re resourceful, eager to learn, and thrive with autonomy
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit

Bonus Points

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
• Prior experience at a startup or on a small, high-impact engineering team
• Contributions to open-source projects or personal tech projects
