Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated LLM Intern to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and researchers to develop, implement, and optimize cutting-edge natural language processing (NLP) and large language model solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with real-world projects and contribute directly to the company’s ongoing innovation in the AI domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Text Data Analysis & Preprocessing Collect, clean, and organize textual datasets using Python-based data analytics tools.
  • Model Development & Testing Assist in the testing, fine-tuning & evaluation of LLM models. Some of the use-cases assessed, relevant for the insurance sector, will be text generation, summarization, information extraction, semantic search, and other core NLP tasks relevant to large language models.
  • Software Engineering Best Practices Contribute to project codebases using version control (Git), participate in code reviews, and follow software development best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Collaboration & Communication Work in an agile environment alongside senior engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams. Communicate findings and technical challenges effectively in English. (Knowledge of French is a plus.)
  • Research & Documentation Stay updated on the latest trends in large language models, natural language processing, and machine learning. Document your work for internal knowledge sharing, including best practices, research findings, and prototype implementations.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework in machine learning and NLP (e.g., classes taken at EPFL or another reputable university).
  • Technical Skills
  • Programming Languages: Proficient in Python; familiarity with other programming languages is a plus.
  • Data Analytics Stack: Hands-on experience with Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Scikit-learn.
  • ML & NLP Knowledge: Understanding of fundamental concepts (e.g., transformer architectures, text preprocessing, tokenization, language modeling, and text classification).
  • Software Engineering: Basic understanding of version control (Git), modular coding practices, and testing frameworks.
  • Project Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on NLP or LLM projects (course assignments, personal projects, or research work).
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and libraries like Hugging Face Transformers is highly advantageous.
  • Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. (French language proficiency is a plus.)
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
