Purpose of The Job

Principal Engineer, serves both as a technology leader and hands-on expert, shaping the engineering direction of critical retail platforms. His/Her decisions on architecture and technology ensure scalable, resilient, and seamless retail experiences that align with long-term goals.

ASSIGNMENTS

Job specific key tasks and responsibilities

Lead and Develop based on Technical Strategy & Architecture: Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and engineering standards for scalable retail platforms.

Deliver High-Quality Solutions: Provide hands-on leadership to ensure performant, maintainable systems aligned with retail needs like POS, inventory, and customer tools.

Foster Engineering Excellence: Champion DevOps, CI/CD, and automation best practices while mentoring senior engineers and promoting a culture of innovation.

KNOWLEDGE

Expert in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and enterprise-scale engineering.

JOB-SPECIFIC CAPABILITIES

Retail Systems Expertise: Deep knowledge of POS, inventory, payments, and fulfillment systems.

Modern Architecture & Cloud: Skilled in microservices, event-driven design, high-availability systems, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) with Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code.

Backend & Security Proficiency: Experienced in backend development (Java, Go, Kotlin, Node.js) with strong understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and data privacy.

KEY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES AND PROVEN SKILLS

Key previous experience and skills needed before the job can be taken up

Extensive Experience: Over 15 years in software engineering with a strong track record of technical implementation andleadership and in enterprise-scale, high-volume environments.

Technical Expertise: Hands-on with cloud-native development, performance engineering, and system design in retail domains.

Collaborative Leadership: Skilled in Agile methodologies, cross-functional teamwork, and influencing stakeholders effectively.
