Data Engineer

Our platform currently focuses on helping customers get better value from their consumer loans and credit cards, with upcoming plans to expand into mortgages.

We’re hiring our first-ever Data Engineer to take ownership of our data architecture, pipelines, and infrastructure. You’ll be continuing the work laid by our Tech Lead and will play a critical role in shaping how data drives our product, analytics, and future AI/ML capabilities.

You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering to ensure that our data systems are robust, secure, and scalable, enabling customers to unlock powerful insights.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement our cloud infrastructure (primarily on Google Cloud Platform)
• Build and manage data pipelines using tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Composer
• Set up a robust data warehouse and establish best practices for ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Work with software engineers and product teams to integrate analytics and event tracking
• Prepare the data ecosystem for future use cases including personalization, recommendations, and real-time analytics
• Help define and implement a modern data stack (Databricks, BI tools like Looker, etc.)

What We’re Looking For

• Solid experience building data pipelines and architectures in GCP (or willingness to cross-train from another cloud provider)
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL frameworks
• Experience with data lakes, warehouses, and orchestration tools
• Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset - you enjoy building from scratch
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
