We are currently in search of a PHP Backend Developer to become an integral part of our expanding development team. Your role will involve contributing to the creation of sophisticated systems that empower our clients to effortlessly interact with our cloud products and services.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of a PHP Backend Developer at Hostwinds, your core duties encompass the construction and upkeep of back-end systems adhering to top-tier quality standards. As a valued member of our back-end team, your responsibilities encompass:

• Developing, implementing, rigorously testing, documenting, and ensuring the continuous maintenance of our back-end systems.
• Crafting code that upholds high standards of quality, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
• Collaborating closely with a Project Manager and cross-functional departments to conceptualize and design API endpoints.
• Engaging actively in architecture discussions and participating in thorough code reviews for both current and forthcoming features and specifications.
  
  

Required Skills and Abilities:

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in backend application development.
• A minimum of 2 years of proven expertise in constructing RESTful APIs using PHP.
• Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming Languages.
• Familiarity with various tools and technologies, including Scheduling Systems (Resque), Message Brokers (RabbitMQ), Redis, Object Relational Mapping frameworks (Doctrine 2), and Relational Databases (MySQL).
• A deep understanding of fundamental design principles that underpin scalable applications.
• Proficiency in utilizing version control tools such as Git.
• Comfort with working within a Scrum/Agile or Kanban workflow.
• Adept analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills that foster effective collaboration and information sharing.
  
  

Nice To Have:

• Proficiency in writing tests using PHPUnit.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.
• Experience working with Openstack.
• Skill in crafting and maintaining application frameworks.
• Expertise in creating integrations with payment processors.
