As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team and help maintain, secure, and optimize our IT systems and infrastructure across our offices and field sites.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an IT Support Specialist with 15+ years of experience in IT systems management, infrastructure support, and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background supporting IT operations in oil & gas, industrial, or large enterprise environments, with the ability to handle both on-site work in Muscat and field support.

Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in IT systems support, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors.
• Strong technical expertise in infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and backup systems.
• Proven experience working across both office environments and remote field sites.
• Familiar with IT compliance and security best practices in critical environments.
• Certifications in relevant technologies (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, etc.) are a plus.
• Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration & Monitoring:
• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and laptops. Ensure integrity, security, and privacy of company data.
• Software & Hardware Support:
• Install, upgrade, and support Windows OS, Microsoft Office, printers, computer hardware, and peripherals. Perform preventive maintenance and hardware customization.
• Vendor Coordination & Documentation:
• Coordinate with IT vendors, suppliers, and partners. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and diagrams for internal use.
• Data Backup & Disaster Recovery:
• Design and manage effective data backup strategies using Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, and HP Autoloader. Support disaster recovery and failover operations.
• Network & Security Management:
• Configure and maintain firewalls (SonicWALL, Sophos), VPNs, and network security policies. Diagnose and resolve network and application issues.
• Database & Storage Management:
• Manage SQL Server, Oracle databases, and storage systems (QNAP, Buffalo). Oversee Cisco switches and daily IT operations.
• Telephony & Virtualization:
• Support Avaya IP Office telephony systems. Configure and maintain VMware and Hyper-V virtualization environments.
• Server & Infrastructure Support:
• Maintain HP ProLiant servers. Handle critical IT infrastructure cases including failover, clustering, and backup restorations.
