Role Summary

At Zalaris, we are a rapidly expanding global leader in HR and payroll tech solutions, founded on Nordic values of inclusivity, innovation, and integrity. We are excited to build a new Java team in Riga, with ambitious plans to establish it as a leading center for Java expertise. As a Mid-Level Java Developer, you will play a key role in developing high-quality software solutions and contributing to our initiative to modernize and transform our systems using cutting-edge technologies.

Your Responsibilities

• Work with modern technologies including Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, and Azure cloud solutions.
• Design and develop robust, reusable microservices and secure REST APIs.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and testers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write, test, and debug code, ensuring high quality through unit and integration testing.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation to support effective team knowledge sharing.
• Stay up to date with new technologies, participate in peer code reviews, and contribute to R&D initiatives.
  
  

Your Experience And Skills

Core Tech Skills:

• Solid experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot / Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cosmo DB.
• Familiarity with Git version control and Gradle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Strong command of English, both spoken and written.
  
  

Nice-to-Haves (Not Mandatory)

• Experience with Kubernetes, microservices architecture, and cloud-based deployments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of business domains such as accounting, finance, HR services, or payroll.
• Exposure to SAP, SAP HCM, or other Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS).
