Job Title: Android Developer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Integrate with backend services and third-party APIs using Firebase and RESTful architectures.
• Utilize Android Jetpack, Compose, and ViewModel architecture to build modern UIs.
• Automate builds and deployment with Fastlane and manage CI/CD via Jenkins.
• Manage codebase via GitHub, participate in code reviews, and enforce clean coding practices.
• Troubleshoot bugs, fix issues, and optimize app performance.
• Stay updated with the latest Android trends, libraries, and best practices.

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in Android application development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio.
• Solid hands-on experience with Android Jetpack components, AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, and ViewModel architecture.
• Experience with Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, etc.).
• Proficient with version control tools such as Git/GitHub.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Fastlane.
• Deep understanding of Android design principles, UI/UX guidelines, and best practices.
• Experience debugging, testing, and improving application performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Published one or more apps in the Google Play Store.
• Experience with Coroutines, LiveData, and Room DB.
• Familiarity with modular app architecture and MVVM/MVI/MVP patterns.
• Prior experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of unit testing and UI testing frameworks like JUnit, Espresso, or Mockito.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid Role; Needs to work 3 days from Office in a week). Can consider for Richmond, VA, McLean, VA as well.

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $120,000– $130,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
