Senior Software Engineer, Test

THE ROLE

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test at Kempower, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving EV market. On a typical day, you'll design and develop scalable, robust automated tests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

In this role you will be,

• Learning to understand our EV charger application domain
• Defining long term test strategies and processes
• Building the needed test tools and infrastructure
• Executing automated, functional and system testing, and security and performance testing 
• Monitoring quality of production deployments
• Using Agile software development and DevOps practices
• Directly collaborating with different internal and external stakeholders
  
  

Key Technologies:

• REST API test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Jest, Postman, language-specific REST clients) 
• UI test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Playwright)
• Fluent or advanced programming skills in some language (e.g. Typescript/JavaScript, Python) 
• An understanding of web application security and performance testing 
• Monitoring tools (e.g. AWS Cloud-watch, Sentry)
• AWS lambda, Serverless and Synthetics
• HTML, CSS, Typescript/JavaScript

At Kempower, we work in a hybrid model. The whole Cloud software & data team meets in Lahti approximately once a month but would encourage the selected candidate to visit the office and meet the team members more often. We also have offices in Tampere, Helsinki and Vaasa.

WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

• 5+ years of experience in test automation or software development 
• Previous experience from functional and system testing, and security and performance testing 
• A deep understanding of agile software development practices and tools (Agile methods, Git, CI/CD, devops, code reviews, security) 
• Having clear understanding of the value and purpose of testing scopes
• Attitude for and track record of continuous learning and curiosity
  
  

Skills that make you stand out:

• Experience in IOT product testing
• Domain Expertise in EV or EV Charging industry
• Proven experience with AWS
