About The Documents Team

Quartr’s Documents Team builds and maintains the systems responsible for ingesting and classifying financial documents from a wide range of third-party sources. This includes robust integration with external APIs, intelligent document classification, and automated extraction of relevant data from web-based sources. By joining this team, you’ll work on high-impact solutions at the intersection of data engineering and financial intelligence – powering reliable, scalable access to critical document-based insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data collection pipelines to power Quartr’s data-driven products
• Implement and enhance automated web data extraction solutions to efficiently gather large volumes of real-time financial data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business goals
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth operation and timely data delivery
• Work closely with non-technical stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are understandable and aligned with business needs
  
  

Required Technical Skills

• 2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, with a focus on Python
• Ability to independently write maintainable code
• Ability to explain code and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to propose durable, simple solutions to complex problems
• Experience merging data from different sources
• Experience in automated web data extraction, with tools such as Selenium, BeautifulSoup, or Scrapy
  
  

Preferred Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with AWS services like Lambda, EC2, ECS, and S3
• Knowledge of ETL processes, large-scale data pipeline management, and workflow tools like Apache Airflow; experience handling streaming or batch data ingestion
• Experience with Docker for deploying and managing backend services and web data extraction scripts
• Experience working with proxy services
