Pirelli is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Deep Learning Engineer - Internship. The successful applicant will join the Manufacturing Intelligence department, contributing to the development of AI and Computer Vision solutions aimed at improving the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of production processes. The chosen candidate will play a key role in developing advanced AI solutions to enhance Pirelli's manufacturing activities.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN 

* AI and Computer Vision Development The candidate will contribute to designing and developing advanced AI algorithms and computer vision models. These models will focus on optimizing production workflows, reducing waste, and maintaining the highest standards of product quality, thereby enhancing productivity, quality, and sustainability in manufacturing processes.

* Collaboration with Stakeholders: The role involves regular interaction and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including industrial partners. Strong communication skills are essential for translating internal departmental requests into AI solutions and presenting industrial requirements effectively to external partners.

* Dataset Understanding: The candidate will analyze complex industrial datasets, primarily composed of images, to identify opportunities where AI solutions can be implemented. These efforts aim to improve efficiency and quality within the manufacturing domain.

* Communication: The ideal candidate must be capable of presenting findings and results clearly to both internal management and external partners. Presentations must be accessible and understandable for both technical and non-technical audiences.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Master's degree (completed or ongoing) in computer science/computer engineering or related fields.
* Italian, English (both oral and written proficiency).
* Proven knowledge about Deep Learning and Machine Learning solutions.
* Knowledge of state-of-the-art AI and Computer Vision algorithms.
* Proficiency in coding principles, particularly Python, as well as AI frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. Familiarity with Hugging Face is considered an advantage.
* Exceptional problem-solving and teamwork skills


Considered a plus:
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and containerization technologies like Docker.
* Familiarity with the use of multimodal models, capable of integrating visual data with other information sources.
* Experience with transformers and generative AI is a plus.
