Overview Of The Role

We’re looking for an AI Backend Engineer to join our team in Oslo and help us build the intelligent services that power the Ardoq platform. You’ll work at the intersection of backend engineering and AI, integrating cutting-edge technologies like LLMs to unlock new capabilities for our users; from intelligent search and smart content generation to automated decision support.

Reports to: Engineering Manager

On a Typical Day, You Will

• Build robust, efficient, and high-performance backend systems that support our AI-driven features
• Design and maintain backend services that interact with LLMs and machine learning models
• Enable intelligent capabilities like natural language search, automated content creation, and advanced data analysis
• Collaborate with AI engineers to bring powerful models to life in our production platform
• Manage data pipelines and implement best practices for performance, storage, and retrieval in AI-centric workflows
• Help shape the evolution of our backend architecture to support new AI innovations
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following modern software engineering practices
  
  

We Imagine You Will Bring

• Strong experience building scalable backend systems, APIs, and services
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (like OpenAI or Hugging Face) and an understanding of how to apply them effectively
• Familiarity with functional programming; bonus points for experience in Clojure, Scala, or similar languages
• Exposure to Machine Learning concepts and how they’re used in backend environments
• Experience working with SQL databases and a solid grasp of data performance and integrity
• A curious mindset and a passion for learning and experimenting with new tools and technologies, especially in AI
