Frontend Developers - Contract - Dublin

Red Kite is seeking a highly skilled (5 yrs exp) Frontend Developer to contribute to the development of our leading global clients' enterprise-wide cutting-edge Agnostic UI Component Framework. This role involves building reusable, performant, and accessible components adhering to modern web standards, including Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. Will be expected to possess excellent JavaScript fundamentals around JavaScript threading, the event loop and call stack

The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating scalable UI frameworks and a deep understanding of web component technologies.

This is a hybrid position based in the clients' Dublin 2 offices.

Job Description

What you will do:

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable UI components using web component standards like Custom Elements and Shadow DOM.
• Implement dynamic, responsive, and accessible components following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and product managers, to deliver robust and user-friendly UI frameworks.
• Ensure high performance and compatibility across a variety of browsers and platforms.
• Write clean, modular, and well-documented code.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure component reliability.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in UI/UX development and web components.

• Pref knowledge of Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and related web component technologies.
• Ability to develop dynamic, responsive, and modular solutions using ES6+ and TypeScript.
• Comfort in collaborating with software engineers, product managers, and cross-functional global teams.

• Ability to address complex technical challenges with smart solutions.

You will have:

• A strong understanding of UI frameworks, micro-frontends architecture, and their integration into various systems.
• Experience integrating web components into various frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Karma) and E2E testing tools (e.g., Cypress).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

You will be experienced with some or all of the following:

• Experience in developing web applications using web component standards (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, HTML templates).
• Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Lit, Stencil, or similar for web component development.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS (including CSS Variables, Grid, and Flexbox).
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, ARIA) and a commitment to implementing them.
• Familiarity with modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Rollup).
• Proficient in version control systems like Git.
• Experience with performance optimization and debugging tools for web applications.
