User Experience Design Intern
As a UX Design Intern at Genesys, you’ll incorporate user-centered design principles to produce high-quality designs and prototypes that inspire, engage, and excite our users. You’ll collaborate with fellow designers, evolving our design language while delivering innovative, best-of-class digital products by creating conceptual sketches, wireframes, user requirements, conceptual models, personas, and flow charts among others.
Above all else, the User Experience team focuses on our users. We are passionate about meeting the needs of our users and positively impacting their day-to-day roles. We gather insights in customer usage, behaviors, and emotions in order to inspire and inform our design process. We strive to embody the voice of our users around the office and in our work. In this role, you’ll join a diverse team of design professionals while collaborating with other teams across the company to deliver our next generation digital products.
Our internship placements will start on the 12th of January 2026 and run on a full-time basis until the end of August 2026.
Location: For this position, candidates will be required to work from our Galway office on a hybrid basis.
Your Internship at Genesys:
- Create digital assets that effectively communicate product function and intent, user interaction, and screen hierarchy.
- Produce user requirements specifications, conceptual models, personas, storyboards/scenarios, flow charts, conceptual sketches, wireframes, IAs, design prototypes, and visual design artifacts.
- Participate in product and feature ideation and conceptual development for web and mobile solutions, also taking into account responsive design considerations.
- Participate in cross-functional teams that include creative leads; designers; project managers; product managers; software developers; and QA
- Keep up with evolving design trends, technologies and best practices.
- Working towards any of the following: HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design, and/or related fields.
- Knowledge of interaction design processes and methodologies, particularly as applied to desktop & mobile products.
- Enjoying working in an innovative environment, taking ownership for your work with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication.
- A desire for continual learning and personal development.
- Proficient in suite of Adobe tools and/or Sketch.
- Have an online portfolio showing a mix of UX/UI design experience.
