What you'll do:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Network Operations Center Engineer to join their team in Meppel, Netherlands. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of their data center infrastructure, providing technical support to clients, and maintaining the highest levels of network performance and security. - Monitor and maintain the data center’s network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including incidents related to Arista, Huawei, and Juniper equipment.
- Implement and manage DDoS protection measures to safeguard client and internal systems.
- Provide client support by addressing technical inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including updates, patches, and configuration changes.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based systems, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
- Manage server configurations, automation, and monitoring using tools like Ansible, Bash, or Python.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve complex network and system issues.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and network changes in accordance with company policies, industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and data centre layouts.
- Participate in on-call rotations and shift work, including nights and weekends, to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Who we are looking for:
Background
- You have graduated from a Bachelor Degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
- You have proven experience in network engineering. Within a data center would be a plus.
- You have hands-on experience with Arista, Huawei, and Juniper networking equipment.
- You are familiar with DDoS protection mechanisms and tools.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VxLAN, NetFlow/IPFIX).
- Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with Linux system administration and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Bash, Python).
- Knowledge of data center operations and best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, HCNA, or equivalent are a plus.
Human Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
Language
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Dutch would be a plus.
