In the newly formed Product area within Wholesale Bank for the Sustainable Solutions Group, we integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into every aspect of our business. The team
As a member of the WB ESG Product Area, you'll be part of a dynamic environment with strong growth ambitions. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art solutions to retain our status as the wholesale banking leader in financing our clients’ sustainable transition. You'll work within the ESG Area, collaborating with professionals dedicated to operationalizing our sustainability strategy and delivering cutting-edge solutions. Our team focuses on measuring and managing emissions, client engagement plans, ESG-related data, and business intelligence to steer our business.
Your specific area, the ESG Client Engagement, discovers and delivers the products that enable ING Front Office employees to engage with clients and finance their transition towards a sustainable future. This involves data analytics, score and frameworks development, as well as workflow tools, delivered in an intuitive way. It’s an ever-growing area where data, algorithms, genAI, legislation, sustainability experts, banking experts, and multi-disciplinary product teams come together to brainstorm, form policies, and deliver products that make the complex ESG world intuitive and set ING as a pioneer in sustainability.

Role & Responsibilities
- As an UX Designer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary product team together with Product Management, Customer Journey Experts, Data Analysts, Full Stackers and Data Engineering. You will also be closely working with the designers in the tribe, UXers and Service Design to enable discovery and design across the entire ESG product area group. Lead the discovery process of new features and product improvements within the product team: from problem, to solution design, validations, MVP design and delivery epics / features
- Together with the PM, set-up a structural way to continuously obtain feedback from users
- Together with the PM and the Tech lead contribute to setting up team structure where needed to ensure a smooth scaling
- Conduct experiments (mainly user research with interviews, prototype validations) with stakeholders and users to validate and gather input for problem validations and solution designs.
- Create user personas and journeys in collaboration with the service designers and customer journey experts to understand how design affords can fit into the bigger picture.
- Organize and facilitate design workshops to identify the business and user challenges, co-create solutions and validate ideas.
- Design and prototype user interfaces in Figma.
- Collaborate with developers, data analysts and the product leads to prepare designs for development.
- Document research findings and designs to help us keep our work structured and easily communicable.
- Continuously refine and expand the design system to ensure consistency and scalability across all products .
- Stay up to date with trends in UX and sustainability.
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in UX/UI design
- Have experience with user research and usability testing.
- Have experience with workshop facilitation, bridging business and engineering
- Be familiar with design thinking and iterative processes.
- Be experienced with Figma for UI design and prototyping.
- Possess strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Be willing to keep a transparent and highly collaborative approach.
- Know how to incorporate data into your design decisions
- Be open to feedback and willing to learn.
- Ideally affinity with data products, ESG products and banking
- Ideally with experience in working in newly formed teams and a pro-active attitude
