IT Project Manager

We are hiring a seasoned IT Project Manager for a leading banking client in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have proven experience in the UAE banking sector, with a strong track record in vendor management, RFP drafting/review, and driving digital transformation initiatives across Open Banking, Open Finance, and core banking systems.

This is a hands-on delivery role requiring full ownership of project execution with minimal involvement from senior management. The candidate must be capable of independently managing stakeholders, timelines, and documentation across multiple internal and external teams.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end IT projects focused on digital transformation, open banking frameworks, and API-driven ecosystems.
Oversee cross-functional teams and multi-vendor ecosystems, including teams responsible for Open Finance, Mobile Banking, and core system integrations.
Lead vendor selection, contract management, and day-to-day coordination to ensure milestones are met.
Prepare, review, and manage RFPs, RFIs, SOWs, and related procurement documentation.
Collaborate with business, IT, compliance, and security teams to define project scope, technical and functional requirements, and success KPIs.
Ensure all projects are compliant with CBUAE regulations, data privacy laws, and banking technology governance standards.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation such as BRDs, test cases, traceability matrices, and project sign-offs.
Use tools like JIRA, MS Project, or similar for project tracking, risk logging, and stakeholder reporting.
Provide proactive governance, resolve issues across vendors and internal teams, and escalate only when necessary.
Deliver quality outcomes independently with high accountability and ownership.

🔹 Required Skills and Experience:

8+ years of IT project management experience, with 3-5 years in UAE banking or fintech domain.
Strong delivery experience in Open Banking, Open Finance, mobile/digital banking platforms, and core banking system integrations.
Proven expertise in cross-vendor and cross-team coordination, especially in technically complex, functionally diverse environments.
Hands-on with RFP/RFI processes, technical-functional project leadership, vendor evaluation, and contract finalization.
Strong understanding of digital banking architecture, API integration standards, and agile SDLC.
PMP, Prince2, or Agile certifications are preferred.
Exceptional communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
