Data Scientist

Oxygen Digital have partnered with a Clean Energy business who are seeking a Quant Scientist to join a high-impact team focused on demand response and battery storage. This role is central to developing forecasting and optimisation models that directly influence trading strategies across European energy markets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable ML models for forecasting and optimisation in energy trading.
• Building robust data pipelines using Python, Databricks, and PySpark.
• Collaborating with Trading and Data teams to deliver market-relevant insights and decision-making tools.
• Driving innovation in algorithmic trading and imbalance markets.

Successful applicants will bring:

• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy, ideally within BRP or trading/optimisation environments.
• Deep expertise in Python, Databricks, PySpark, and tools like Delta Lake, Polars, and Pyomo.
• A strong software engineering mindset with CI/CD, testing, and DevOps experience.
• Proven ability to lead projects, mentor peers, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
• This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of clean energy trading in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Remote work is available for candidates based in the Netherlands or Nordic countries.

Package:

• Salary range: €100,000 - €115,000
• Stock appreciation rights (SAR)
