Senior IT Security Consultant/Architect

6 month contract + possible extensions

Fully remote in Canada

Pay: $80-100/hr incorp

Must haves:

• 6–8 years of experience in IT Security with a strong focus on encryption and key management

• Hands-on experience with Thales CipherTrust for encryption and key management (including configuration, automation, and key rotation)

• Experience working with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and exposure to Post-Quantum Cryptography upgrades

• Experience with Cloud-Based Encryption platforms and securing data in cloud environments

• Deep understanding of data protection best practices, including encrypting data at rest/in transit and managing key lifecycles

• Experience configuring and maintaining enterprise-level encryption platforms and automation processes

Nice to have:

• Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Java

• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM), federated authentication, and certificate management tools (e.g., ADFS, AppviewX, Thales SafeNet)

• Background in infrastructure support for Windows, Linux, or Unix environments

• Experience working within ITIL frameworks (change, incident, and problem management)

• Understanding of authentication protocols like SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and MFA

Job Description:

Insight Global is hiring a Senior IT Security Specialist with deep experience in encryption and key management to support one of Canada’s largest enterprise security programs. This individual will be responsible for supporting and configuring enterprise encryption tools—most critically Thales CipherTrust—to secure sensitive data, manage keys, and enable automated key rotation strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with HSMs and Post-Quantum Cryptography initiatives and will play a key role in protecting data across platforms and supporting upgrades aligned to future-ready cryptographic standards. This is a highly technical, hands-on role requiring both deep subject matter expertise and collaborative stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Thales CipherTrust platforms for encryption, key lifecycle automation, and secure data migration

• Support HSM integrations and contribute to Post-Quantum Cryptography transition efforts

• Automate key rotation processes and ensure alignment with compliance and governance policies

• Collaborate with internal teams to design, support, and optimize secure infrastructure solutions

• Act as a subject matter expert for data protection and cryptographic best practices across the organization
