Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Swift, Obj-C).
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects.
  • Experience in android, mobile app development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and collaborate with other people, teams and functions.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

  • Influence technical direction for top priority projects for the team. Drive technical roadmap and prioritization for Home Apps infrastructure.
  • Involve in architecture and design discussions. Code in Java/Kotlin and set best practices for the team.
  • Manage tech debt elimination and system architecture. Prioritize code cleanup, and promote testing and quality best practices across the organization.
  • Own core app journeys including Home page, Growth, Subscriptions, Identity, Entertainment, Gemini in Assistant and more.
  • Work with and influence the latest smart home standards. Build rich app experiences for many device verticals. Define the future of Gemini in the Home.
