Job Title: Android Developer (Kotlin – Mobile & TV Apps)

Location: Remote (Brazil)

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Android Developer to join our remote team in Brazil. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in native Android development using Kotlin, with proven expertise in building both mobile and Android TV applications. You will be instrumental in delivering high-quality video playback experiences, developing intuitive UIs with Jetpack Compose, and maintaining scalable architecture in a collaborative, Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance native Android applications for mobile and TV platforms using Kotlin and Jetpack libraries.
• Implement modern UI components using Jetpack Compose and ensure optimal performance across devices.
• Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver new features and improvements.
• Apply software architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Conduct unit and UI testing using JUnit, Espresso, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex issues in Android applications.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in regular code reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Integrate and maintain video playback features using ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer.
• Work on telemetry and analytics integration to enhance video and app performance tracking.
• Provide occasional on-call support for high-priority production issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK, memory management, and performance optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and other Android Jetpack components.
• Experience working in Agile development teams with CI/CD and automated testing workflows.
• Familiarity with debugging tools, crash reporting, and logging best practices.
• Knowledge of ExoPlayer, MediaPlayer, or other video streaming technologies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience building applications for Android TV platforms.
• Knowledge of video analytics, telemetry tools, and monitoring platforms like Firebase or Crashlytics.
• Familiarity with DRM, streaming protocols, and Android networking concepts.
• Exposure to performance profiling and app quality tools.
