Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Android Developer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in native Android development using Kotlin. The ideal candidate will have experience working on both mobile and Android TV applications, with a strong focus on performance optimization, UI development using Jetpack Compose, and scalable architecture. This role will involve building innovative video playback experiences, participating in agile development teams, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications (Mobile & TV) using Kotlin and Jetpack libraries.
• Optimize application performance and memory usage for Android mobile and TV platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to define, design, and ship new features.
• Implement and maintain UI components using Jetpack Compose.
• Apply architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture.
• Write unit and UI tests using JUnit and Espresso; ensure CI/CD integration and automated testing coverage.
• Debug, triage, and resolve moderately complex issues on the Android platform.
• Participate in code reviews and offer guidance to junior developers on best practices in Kotlin and Android.
• Support and maintain features related to video playback using ExoPlayer or MediaPlayer APIs.
• Work on telemetry and analytics integration for video applications.
• Participate in periodic on-call support for critical, emergent production issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of professional experience in Android app development using Kotlin.
• Proficient in Android SDK, performance tuning, and memory management.
• Solid understanding of Android Jetpack libraries, especially Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and crash reporting.
• Knowledge of video streaming technologies (ExoPlayer, MediaPlayer).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing for Android TV platforms.
• Familiarity with video analytics and telemetry tools.
• Understanding of networking, DRM, and media streaming protocols.
• Exposure to tools such as Firebase, Crashlytics, or similar monitoring platforms.
