Do you want to make own impact for the Finland carbon neutral targets? Approximately 70% of Finland electricity is consumed in electrical motors. Energy efficient motors and drive control play major role towards the net zero goals. Join our market leading company and our team responsible for the Motors and Drives and be part of the Energy Efficiency Movement.

We are now looking for an Application Engineer at ABB Oy, Drive Products division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain application software for drives including code development, documentation, testing and support. Development is often done in collaboration with the customers. You will be part of OEM hub team and co-operate with drives factory R&D. This is a global role and involves also traveling.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

• Developing and maintaining in-house application software for ABB drives (coding, documentation, testing and support)
• Working as a 2 person pair / team
• Developing OEM specific solutions together with local sales
• Developing solutions/concepts in collaboration with customers
• Documentation of the solution
• Onsite and after-sales support for dedicated OEMs
• Sharing solutions and application know-how within the global OEM community
  
  

What it takes to Run what runs the world

• Programming skills (Python, C/C++, IEC61850) are essential
• Understanding physics, especially physics of motion is essential
• Relevant work experience 1-2 years, you will be trained on the job
• Understanding of the electrical design and ability to read schematics are beneficial
• Motion application knowhow and understanding of fieldbus technologies are beneficial
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• B.Sc. in engineering or a similar degree is essential
• You are fluent in English and Finnish, both written and spoken
