Abacus Medicine is dedicated to enhancing global healthcare by improving access to medicine. You will be part of our team of 11 colleagues with diverse backgrounds, working together to develop our operations in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Although you will in this role be based remotely in Portugal.

Are you ready to embark on this journey with us?

We are seeking someone who can actively contribute to the launch and growth of the Portuguese market. As part of the Southern European team, you will be involved in designing and implementing business development strategies to help us establish and scale our sales and sourcing capabilities in Portugal. You will also assist with administrative and operational tasks, and participate in projects aimed at developing operations in the Iberian region.

Your areas of responsibilities:

• Engaging with prospective customers and key market stakeholders.
• Building and maintaining solid, long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Opening, developing, and scaling sales and sourcing channels.
• Defining, developing, and implementing standardized processes.
• Supporting the definition and implementation of strategic development initiatives.
• Gathering and analyzing market intelligence.

Fuel for your success in the role

We are looking for an organized, self-driven, proactive, and curious individual who is ready to tackle the challenges of business development within the pharmaceutical industry. An analytical approach and a strong affinity for data and numbers are essential. It is crucial that you are goal-oriented and thrive on taking full responsibility for a wide range of assignments.

We imagine you have:

• Knowledge of CRM systems and sales enablement tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel or Power BI.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and drive actionable insights.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Problem-solving skills, including critical thinking and the ability to identify issues quickly and develop effective solutions.
• High proficiency in Portuguese and English; knowledge of Spanish and / or Italian.
• Skilled in building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders to align goals and drive collaboration.
• Demonstrates a strong commercial mindset, with the ability to identify business opportunities and drive value.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in business development; experience in the pharmaceutical sector is a plus but not required.
