Field Service Manager

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer for ABB Oy's Marine Service unit in Vuosaari, Helsinki. In this role, you will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of ABB's control and monitoring system deliveries at shipyard sites. The shipyards are mainly located in Europe.

The position offers an excellent opportunity to participate in ABB's marine business and develop as an expert in ABB products and systems as part of a cleaner and smarter future for maritime transport. We will develop your ABB expertise through our extensive range of courses and training.

Work Model

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. You will be responsible for the commissioning and maintenance of ABB's propulsion, control, and monitoring systems. You will work as part of ABB's team at the shipyard and ensure that forementioned activities are carried out efficiently in accordance with customer requirements, standards, and safety regulations.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Commissioning and maintenance of ABB Marine's control and monitoring systems
• Testing systems in collaboration with classification societies, the shipyard, and the customer
• Readiness to handle warranty and maintenance tasks
• Defining and recommending solutions based on business and customer needs and providing relevant information
• Reporting and feedback process for commissioning project Lessons Learned
• Using and improving processes and tools that ensure effective project implementation
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• Degree in electrical, automation, or other applicable engineering fields (Master's or Bachelor's)
• Basics of electrical engineering and electrical installations
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and systems (e.g., ST/FBD)
• Readiness for approximately 150 travel days per year
• Ability to work independently as part of ABB's team at the shipyard
• Proactive safety, quality, and customer service attitude
• Strong communication skills in both Finnish and English. Other language skills are considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of ABB's marine industry products and systems is considered an advantage
