The Team:

We started with a small group of experienced engineers and the team has significantly increased in size to a team of 20+ with plans to continue to grow. The team was formed to execute on Clear Street’s growth strategy of expanding our products and services to reach more asset classes and geographies. We work closely with engineering and product teams based in New York.

Members of the team have the unique opportunity to be part of a growth journey, building a technology stack from scratch, and making a big impact on the financial market. In this role, an individual will work in conjunction with team members in Sweden and NY to build applications for our Securities Finance and Futures businesses, the Execution Management, Risk as well as Custody and Clearing systems.

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Back-End engineer to join our Swedish Engineering team. You will play an important role in building up the technological backbone of Clear Street. In this role you will work closely with our business partners, build and design new solutions, and support the current business.

As we continue to build the team we are looking for Back-End engineers that have the ability to help build the server side elements such as data storage, security and overall performance. As an experienced Back-End Software Engineer you will help build our technology to offer a modern prime brokerage experience. You will tackle non trivial problems that force you to balance trade offs while implementing clean and efficient solutions. This role is deeply involved with engineering the technology solution that we offer to our varied client base including hedge funds, traders and portfolio managers.

Tech Stack: Java, Go, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS,TypeScript, React, Kafka

The Role:

• You will solve challenging engineering problems that underpin the financial system, handling tens of millions of trades/day
• You will build highly available, scalable, mission-critical applications in a modern technology stack
• You will collaborate with other engineering teams to address scalability concerns to enable higher volumes of trades
• You will work with users to understand and define new features and drive them to completion
• You will develop a deep understanding of the business domain
  
  

Requirements:

• At least four (4) years of professional software engineering experience and strong proficiency with Java and our tech stack listed is preferred
• BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar major
• Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, such as algorithms and data structures
• High degree of self-motivation and willingness to jump into unfamiliar areas to solve problems
• Ability to work with stakeholders to develop new product ideas, design the technology to implement them, and see them through to completion
• Experience in building trading systems or high-throughput streaming applications
