What You Bring As a Expert Software Engineer

• Solid Expertise: 8+ years of experience in programming languages like Golang (must) Kotlin & Java, and cloud technologies like Google Cloud and Kubernetes. You’re skilled in DevOps practices such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, experienced in designing and consuming APIs, including GraphQL, and monitoring tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Ownership: You take responsibility for the entire development lifecycle, including making bold technical choices, refining designs, and ensuring smooth deployment. Handling emergencies, when things don’t go as planned, addressing obstacles directly to ensure the shop health.
• Problem-Solving Mindset: You thrive on tackling complex challenges, crafting scalable systems, and delivering high-performing, efficient solutions.
• Adaptability: You love experimenting with cutting-edge technologies, thrive in a distributed architecture, and embrace a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: You work closely with product teams to deliver value, mentor colleagues, and align technical solutions with business goals, all while supporting a positive, collaborative atmosphere.

What You’ll Do As a Expert Software Engineer

You’ll play an important role in shaping and maintaining the technical foundation of our shop, giving feature teams the freedom and tools to innovate. You’ll:

• Take ownership of foundational systems, making all technical decisions and owning outcomes, even when challenges arise.
• Design, build, and maintain the core systems for our shop (web and app) and the bol platform for the shop domain.
• Collaborate with product teams (your internal customers) to ensure the solutions you create provide clear and help product teams are able to deliver features to our customers.
• Manage end-to-end responsibilities, including code reviews, refinement, testing, deployment, maintaining quality, and a stable production environment.
• Drive innovation within the shop, continuously improving processes, tools, and architecture.

You’ll join the Technical Shop Foundation product within the Consumer Journey. Our mission is to enable feature teams to develop quickly, autonomously, and effectively. The team is made up of back-end engineers, each with their unique expertise and personality.
