Junior Developer

Junior PHP Developer – Hybrid (Manchester, 2-3 days onsite)

A Manchester-based digital agency is looking for a Junior PHP Developer to join their team. The agency works on a variety of client projects, including websites and e-commerce platforms, and values practical skills and a willingness to learn.

In this role, you’ll primarily work with PHP and Laravel on new development and maintenance tasks. Experience with WordPress and WooCommerce is a plus, and familiarity or interest in React.js for frontend work would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain PHP applications, mainly using Laravel
• Support WordPress and WooCommerce website builds and updates
• Work with designers and project managers to deliver projects on schedule
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Learn new technologies with support from senior developers
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs

Skills and experience:

• Some experience with PHP and Laravel, either professionally or through projects
• Basic knowledge of WordPress; WooCommerce experience is helpful
• Familiarity with React.js or willingness to learn
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Motivation to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to manage time and meet deadline
