Automation & Industrial IT Developer

Full-time | Permanent | 95–115k CHF/year | 13–month salary | 1 day/week remote

We’re looking for two experienced Automation & Industrial IT Developers to join a fast-growing Swiss engineering company working at the intersection of pharma, fine chemicals, and industrial process control. This is a newly created role to strengthen the automation team and support expanding project portfolios.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll play a central role in delivering turnkey automation solutions across multiple client sites. This includes:

• Design & Development: Build and implement automation architectures and industrial IT systems (SCADA, PLCs, DCS), based on detailed user needs and regulatory constraints.
• Client Engagement: Act as the technical point of contact for clients, gather requirements, and translate them into functional specifications and system designs.
• Project Management: Lead or support project coordination—managing schedules, budgets, and resources while maintaining close communication with stakeholders.
• Programming & Configuration: Develop software applications for process control and supervision (Aveva System Platform is a plus). Configure DCS (DeltaV preferred), PLCs, and HMIs.
• Testing & Commissioning: Plan and perform factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT). Oversee system commissioning and integration at client sites.
• Validation & Documentation: Ensure full compliance with GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, and Data Integrity standards. Draft and validate technical documentation and test protocols.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to improve internal development processes and drive innovation in automation and digitalization projects.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, QA, production, and IT to deliver high-performance, compliant systems.
  
  

Your Profile

• Degree (HES/EPF or equivalent) in Automation, Industrial IT, or related technical discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in automation/industrial IT engineering
• Fluent in French and English
• Knowledge of SCADA platforms (Aveva a plus) and/or DCS (DeltaV preferred)
• Experience in pharma, biotech, or chemical environments is a strong asset
• Familiarity with ISA95/ISA88 standards and GxP environments is advantageous
• Proficiency with MS Office and technical documentation tools
• Swiss/EU/EFTA passport required (permit support available for EU/EFTA)
