AI Developer / GenAI Engineer

Role Overview

We're hiring a hands-on AI Developer / GenAI Engineer to deliver real-world impact through intelligent Generative AI workflows and chatbot applications-built within the databricks platform and powered by LLMs.

You'll join a forward-thinking government initiative focused on unlocking insight from structured and unstructured data (PDFs, tabular datasets), ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and built for scale. This is your chance to lead technical delivery as the sole AI specialist-collaborating closely with a Product Owner and Business Analyst to bring innovative GenAI use cases to life.

Contract: 6 months (with potential extension)

Key Responsibilites.

• Design, build and maintain GenAI pipelines in databricks, using vector search and agentic workflows
• Develop interactive chatbot interfaces with Streamlit or Gradio
• Extend and optimise LangChain / LangGraph workflows to support modular, context-aware agents
• Build pipelines for PDF parsing, summarisation, and OCR/VLM-based content extraction
• Integrate external datasets and enable dynamic retrieval using Databricks SQL
• Apply PII masking and AI-driven redaction to meet strict compliance and privacy requirements
• Contribute to proof-of-concepts, stakeholder demos, and internal-facing AI apps

Your experience and skill sets.

• 2-5 years' experience in AI/ML development or data engineering roles
• Proficiency in Python and AI/ML libraries (e.g. HuggingFace, OpenAI API)
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Databricks, including Notebooks, Delta Lake, vector embeddings
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, or other agentic GenAI frameworks
• Experience with Streamlit, Gradio, or Flask for LLM-based applications
• Exposure to OCR tools and/or Visual Language Models (VLMs)
• Understanding of data compliance, PII, and ethical AI principles
