Opportunity

We’re building mission-critical applications that support global defense operations — from airbases to naval fleets. To scale this effort, we’re looking for a Frontend Engineer who knows how to deliver high-quality user interfaces in real-world, production environments.

The Role

As a Frontend Engineer at ILIAS Solutions, you’ll join a product team responsible for delivering robust, user-centric applications for armed forces around the world. You’ll help design and build interfaces that empower defense professionals to plan, manage, and execute their missions more effectively.

We work in two-week sprints with retrospectives, sprint reviews, and close collaboration between developers, designers, and product owners. If you thrive in an Agile environment and see ceremonies as moments for alignment and improvement (not interruptions), you’ll fit in well here.

You’ll be writing modern JavaScript and TypeScript using React and Styled Components, integrating with backend services and SQL-driven data layers, and collaborating closely with design and QA to deliver polished features. While we use tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and Lovable to speed up workflows and foster deep focus, this is a professional engineering role — not just about “vibe coding,” but about delivering reliable, maintainable, and thoughtful UI.

Your mission

Key Responsibilities

Scalable Frontend Engineering

• Build and maintain production-grade UI components using React and Styled Components.
• Translate Figma designs and product specs into responsive, accessible, performant interfaces.
• Ensure visual and behavioral consistency across views, states, and edge cases.
• Write maintainable code that works in large-scale, long-lifecycle applications.
  
  

Data-Rich UI Development

• Work closely with SQL-driven APIs and datasets to build meaningful, real-time UI experiences.
• Understand how backend schema and data structures affect frontend logic and flow.
• Collaborate with analysts and data engineers to present data accurately and clearly.
  
  

Agile Collaboration & Testing

• Participate in sprints, retrospectives, and sprint reviews — we value structure and iteration.
• Collaborate across disciplines to shape features early and deliver them incrementally.
• Write Cypress tests for regression and critical path testing. Help the team grow its test culture.
  
  

Your Capabilities

What We’re Looking For / Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience building frontend applications at scale, ideally in SaaS or enterprise environments.
• Strong command of React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Styled Components.
• Working knowledge of SQL — enough to understand joins, filters, and basic schemas.
• Proficiency in Cypress or similar testing frameworks for frontend automation.
• Ability to turn product and design requirements into structured, testable UI code.
• Comfort working in Agile teams with structured sprints, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  
  

Bonus Points

• Experience integrating complex data visualizations (we use Highcharts).
• Familiarity with accessibility best practices (WCAG, ARIA).
• Previous exposure to regulated industries (defense, aviation, healthcare, etc.).
• Interest in developer tools like Cursor, Windsurf, or AI-enhanced workflows.
• Contributions to internal component libraries or frontend architecture discussions.
