We're looking for a Senior RF Engineer to develop, and deploy advanced RF communication and networking subsystems for our autonomous drone platforms. This role is for a highly technical individual contributor who thrives in complex, real-time environments and has deep expertise in network communications, RF systems, embedded Linux, and modern internet networking protocols. You'll architect robust communication frameworks, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance RF solutions that meet the mission-critical demands of defense, enterprise, and government applications.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead the design and development of network architectures for heterogenous communication and sensing applications.
  • Architect and implement SDR solutions and oversee their integration into autonomous platforms.
  • Design and optimize embedded networking systems on Linux-based platforms for high-throughput, low-latency communication.
  • Drive the development of IP-based and mesh networking protocols tailored for aerial and mobile systems.
  • Participate in RF performance testing, including range tests, interference analysis, and antenna tuning in both lab and field conditions.
  • Troubleshoot complex RF and embedded networking issues, using tools such as spectrum analyzers, SDR toolchains, and packet sniffers.
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure robust integration and performance.
  • Define RF system requirements, test protocols, and deployment guidelines in collaboration with program leads and external partners.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, contributing to team knowledge-sharing and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field (PhD a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in RF system design, SDR development, and embedded networking.
  • Proven expertise in developing and integrating RF communication systems into real-time robotic platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of IP-based communication, RF propagation, modulation techniques, and antenna theory.
  • Hands-on experience with GNU Radio, USRP, or other SDR platforms.
  • Strong skills in C/C++ and embedded Linux system design.
  • Proficient with RF test equipment and tools such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and network analyzers.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and documentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience working in cross-functional, fast-paced environments.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Learning and development opportunities
