Agile Coach

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Agile Coach (EL2) to join a high-performing federal government team for a 12-month contract, with potential extensions up to 24 months.

As a Senior Agile Coach, you will guide, coach, and embed agile values, principles and practices across large or multiple teams to drive business transformation. You will work closely with senior leaders and executive stakeholders to promote agile maturity, support cultural change, and lead strategic agile initiatives aimed at improving delivery performance, customer outcomes, and organisational agility.

Mandatory requirements

• Certified Agile Coach or equivalent (e.g. Certified Scrum Master (CSM), ICAgile Certified Professional)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience coaching Agile teams within a government environment
• Ability to work full-time onsite in the ACT (or other approved capital cities) for the initial 6 weeks and a minimum of 3 days per week thereafter
• Strong expertise across Agile frameworks, tools, and techniques, including Lean, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban
• Proven experience facilitating Agile training sessions, coaching senior leaders, and guiding teams in complex environments
• Demonstrated ability to influence change, resolve conflict, and build high-performing, transparent, and collaborative teams
• High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to develop strategic plans, guide organisational transformation, and measure agile maturity

Desirable criteria

• Experience operating at the EL2 or equivalent level
• Familiarity with organisational transformation and large-scale change programmes
• Background in human-centred design or user-focused delivery methodologies
• Understanding of Agile metrics, team health indicators, and value measurement frameworks
• Ability to lead Agile Communities of Practice and knowledge-sharing forums
• Experience coaching executives and cross-functional teams in both delivery and cultural change contexts
