Security Operations Chief

We are seeking an experienced Security Operations Chief to elevate and strengthen our cybersecurity event management and incident response capabilities.

This critical role is responsible for managing the identification, resolution, and prevention of security incidents to safeguard the resilience and integrity of physical and digital security systems.

Responsibilities

Supervise detailed logging and tracking of all security events
Ensure thorough and precise documentation of security activities and incidents
Evaluate security data to identify threats and vulnerabilities that could affect the organization
Direct incident response efforts to swiftly address security breaches, system disruptions, or related events
Determine the scope and impact of security incidents and document findings in detail
Coordinate with internal teams and external parties during forensic activities and response efforts
Create and update incident response playbooks to enhance readiness and response strategies
Enable implementation of robust remediation measures to mitigate future risks
Pinpoint vulnerabilities and weaknesses in systems or processes, applying preventive solutions
Collaborate across teams to implement and refine security controls
Facilitate post-incident analysis to garner insights and recommend actionable improvements
Review and continuously improve workflows for event monitoring and incident responses

Requirements

7+ years of experience in incident response and security event management
Background in security information and event management (SIEM) platforms with proven hands-on expertise
Understanding of security frameworks, principles, and applicable technologies
Capability to direct and oversee an incident response team during high-stakes situations
Skills in analytical problem-solving and confidently making decisions under pressure
Competency in effective communication with diverse audiences spanning technical and non-technical spheres
Flexibility to operate independently, collaboratively, and remotely within distributed teams

Nice to have

Bachelor’s degree focused on Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or similar areas
Certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, or SANS GIAC (e.g., GCIH, GCIA preferred)
