R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

We are looking for a Senior Lead Data Scientist to join our 24/7 Intelligence Analytics team, developing cutting-edge predictive maintenance solutions for our connected equipment. You’ll play a key role in enabling intelligent decision-making through data and AI – ensuring reliability and performance for millions of users worldwide.

The role is located in Espoo / Hyvinkää Finland. We work in a hybrid model so there’s possibility to work remotely couple of days a week.

In this role, you will

• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to identify challenges and design impactful analytical solutions
• Build, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models to enable predictive capabilities and intelligent insights
• Productionize analytical solutions and implement algorithms leveraging large-scale IoT data
• Champion data science best practices and drive technical excellence in analytics architecture
  
  

We are looking for someone with

• PhD/MSc or equivalent knowledge in data science, computer science, or related quantitative fields
• Proven experience in developing, deploying, and managing analytical solutions at scale
• Expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
• Strong Python programming skills and proficiency with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (preferably AWS, but Azure/GCP are also valued)
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices (e.g., Terraform, GitLab CI/CD)
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks, such as Robot Framework and unit testing practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
• A curious mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous learning
