What you'll do

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Care Cooperation domain, driving innovation and helping us continue to be the leading secure communication platform for healthcare professionals. You will architect, develop, and optimize systems that enable scalable, seamless, and highly secure access to healthcare professional messaging.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Architecture and scalability: Lead and evolve the design, development, testing, and deployment of high-impact systems that can scale to support millions of users across Europe.

Solving complex challenges: Leverage your expertise to provide scalable solutions to complex technical problems, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Mentoring and collaborating: While hands-on coding will be part of your role, you’ll also focus on mentoring and guiding engineers across multiple teams, fostering their growth and technical development.

Ensuring Security Excellence: Ensuring our user’s data is safe and secure by keeping security and privacy front and center to everything you do.

Risk management: Proactively identify and address risks related to scalability, security, and maintainability. Ensure that solutions align with best practices and are future-proof.

Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate daily with Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, SREs, Product Managers, and Security teams to ensure adherence to security, performance, and code quality standards.

Who you are

• Have 10+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Have proven experience with distributed systems at scale
• Have in-depth knowledge of software and system design
• Have the ability to identify and adapt to the most efficient technologies to solve issues
• Are eager to be hands on with Java and Kotlin

Now, it would be fantastic if you:

• Ideally experience with frameworks and libraries like Spring Boot, Akka and Protobuf
• Experience working with JPA, MySQL, MongoDb and Elasticsearch/Opensearch
• Have experience with AWS
• Have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and security topics
• Possess a strong background in developing backend services specifically tailored for mobile applications
• Have experience building messaging applications
• Have an experience in a hyper-growth environment
