We are currently looking for a Pre-Sales Engineer | Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) Systems a creative, proactive, and innovative professional who thrives on taking initiative, driving improvements, and collaborating within a team-oriented culture. Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Transportation Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in AFC systems, intelligent transportation, or transit technology solutions
- Certifications or formal training in transit technologies (e.g., Transport Ticketing Global, UITP programs)
- PMP or Prince2 certification (preferred for project-related pre-sales activities)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in client presentations and cross-functional collaboration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude
- Ability to communicate complex AFC concepts in a clear, simplified manner for non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in multicultural, multi-stakeholder bid environments, including government agencies, OEMs, and system integrators
Technical Expertise
- In-depth understanding of AFC system architecture: validators, TVMs, back-office systems, mobile apps, and QR/NFC/RFID-based technologies
- Experience in fare policy modeling, pricing logic, and system parameterization
- Proficient in technical proposal writing for RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs
- Integration knowledge of payment gateways and standards like EMV and NCMC
- Experience with ITS components: fleet management, AVLS, and real-time passenger information systems
- Familiarity with smart card systems and Account-Based Ticketing (ABT)
- Demonstrated experience in preparing PoC/demos for municipalities or transit agencies
- Skilled in preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs), compliance matrices, and implementation documentation
- Ability to produce system architecture diagrams (2D/3D), high-level solution briefs, and technical presentations
- Working knowledge of industry standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO/IEC 14443, and ISO 24014 (IFM/OJP)
Job Description;
- Collaborate with sales and bid teams to analyze client requirements and deliver tailored AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) technical solutions that align with both operational and commercial objectives.
- Design, develop, and present end-to-end AFC system demonstrations—including hardware (validators, kiosks) and software components (mobile apps, backend platforms).
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, compliance matrices, and implementation schedules to support tender submissions and client proposals.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal product teams, external system integrators, and customer technical stakeholders to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to product roadmap planning by providing early input based on regional RFP trends, market demands, and direct client feedback.
- Participate in customer workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and technical deep-dives to ensure solution fit and feasibility.
- Support proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot deployments by configuring systems, monitoring performance, and collecting feedback.
- Stay up to date with industry standards (e.g., EMV, NCMC, ISO 24014) and emerging technologies relevant to smart mobility and AFC.
- Provide pre-sales training and technical enablement to regional sales teams and partners.
